At a time when a lot of ski expeditions to the Himalaya are getting ready to head out, Fredrick Ericsson sent me a link to a video he has put together from his attempt to ski Dhaulagiri, the 7th highest peak in the world, last year. The film is a blend of cultural, landscape and skiing imagery, and gives one a pretty good idea of what a trip like this entails. From what I remember (and the video shows this), the trip was thwarted by tons of snow and unfortunately Fredrick didn’t succeed in being the first to ski Dhaulagiri from the top…turning around only 150 meters from the summit. From what I can tell, if he had better weather, he probably would have nailed the sucker. Thanks for the video Fredrick!
