When I was a youngster and in grade school, I used to love to draw pictures of sports cars and trucks on my notebooks and book covers. Probably when I should have been paying attention to the teacher. Yesterday, a car pulled up in front of the store that had a striking resemblance to those I used to draw. Low to the ground, a sharp front end and big wing on the back. It’s a 1973 Pantera…Italian for “Panther”.
The Pantera was a joint venture between the Italian manufacturer de Tomaso and Ford. Though not quite the caliber of a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche, the Pantera has a big, throaty V8 and had a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds. Interestingly enough, Elvis once shot his Pantera with a gun after it wouldn’t start and Motley Crue’s Vince Neil had an accident which killed one of the passengers in the vehicle in 1984. For now…I’ll stick with my KLR…it gets better gas mileage.

Anyway, I’ve been working the past few days, and it seems as though skiing has been put on hold around here as night time temperatures haven’t really been dropping to freezing levels lately. I think things are supposed to change later in the week. Let’s hope so at least. Stay tuned…I’ve got a video of skiing the Koven Couloir on Mount Owen lined up for this week. Ciao for now!!
