Heather Paul Thursday Night Hillclimb Series

Tired of training for rando races alone? Come out and join fellow skiers at Snow King on Thursday nights! This hillclimb series is as serious as you want it to be, or laid back for fun and named after an extraordinary individual. Heather Paul was a Jackson resident who unfortunately lost her life in a climbing accident on Cloudveil Dome. She had a tremendous spirit, a passion for the mountains and an engine that never ran out of gas. She was an inspiration to everyone. Come share her love of skiing with others on Thursday nights at The King!

Sounds like a great town function for a good cause. Will these events be set up as a race format? As many laps as you can do?

    Cheers…

    Yes…race format…one lap.

Is this a night race or does the king have some lights? Thinking steamboat needs to step up like this.

Yeah…it’s a night race. The King has lights about halfway up the hill…the rest is in the dark.

couple of questions: is there a beater division?

is the descent route a chinese downhill down exhibition? that could be exciting.

assuming it will be down elk with slalom or gs gates though.

major props to the organizers and the sponsors!

I’m not sure about divisions…but I do know…”It’s All (and only) About The Up”.

The hill-climb will end at the top and it will be up to those participating how they will get back to the bottom. First one to the bottom get’s the first beer!

Heard that there will be Backcountry Provisions sandwiches provided for the event. As if you needed another reason to show up and climb the king.

Another great event supported by BCP. For a small sandwich shop, it’s amazing how much the crew at BCP supports the Jackson Hole community. Now I DO have a reason to dust off the rando racing kit and show up.

    Thanks BCP!

HI. I am Heather Paul’s mother, Audrey Bonnett. I am not sure who is organizing this event again, perhaps Forest Framis? Our family just wants to say THANK YOU for remembering Heather this way. I know that she is smiling down on you, with her beautiful blue eyes, and shy smile, and is working her way up and down Snow King with you. Heather was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend to many. We still miss her every day, but her spirit is with us. All of her friends in Jackson Hole were her “family” and we know that she loved sharing her life with all of you. Have a great, fun time, enjoy the friendship, and raise a beer or wine toast to Heather at the end of the course for us! Heather Paul – Mountain Angel. We love you all.

Neat. I have heard about this. This is named after my twin, Heather. I have never heard directly from the organizers, but hopefully you all will have a great time. And yes, it is all about the uphill:)

I still think of Heather every time I put on the skis — and especially skinning uphill!. Made two of the climbs this year and had a great time. Special thanks to Forest for keeping the event going. Nice to hear from Audrey and Kelly.
