AsCent For Literacy Ski-a-thon

Having spent my formative years in Jackson Hole skiing at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, I’ve always wanted to see how many trams I could do in a day. While waiting in lines might slow down laps on the tram and gondola a little, this event would be a great way to rack up the vertical, test your skiing endurance and at the same time, raise money for a great cause.

Teton Literacy Program will be hosting the First Annual ‘AsCent for Literacy’ at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 14th. TLP needs your help to raise money through donations and pledges. Sign-Up to participate in this exciting Community Event by e-mailing AsCent@tetonliteracy.org, calling 733-9242, or stopping by the TLP offices at 1715 High School Rd, #260.

All Participants who raise funds for donation to ‘AsCent for Literacy’ will be eligible to purchase a Day Pass from JHMR for a reduced rate of $43 for Adults and $25 for Juniors.

Participants who raise $100 or more in donations will be eligible to win prizes in different categories including: Most Vertical Feet, Most Donations Raised, Most Donations Raised per Foot, Best Outfit, and more. Prizes will include, Ski/Snowboard Gear, JHMR Passes, Dinners, Local Accommodations, and other excellent Jackson Hole items that will be awarded during an Aprés Ski Party at the Mangy Moose Saloon featuring the band Euforquestra. All participants will be given a take-home bag full of goodies. Check-In will be at the JHMR Special Events tent (above the SnowPark and Tram) starting at 8:00AM when Instructions and Tally Bibs will be given.

The ‘AsCent for Literacy’ is a Ski-A-Thon. Participants pledge to ski/ride a certain number of feet towards Teton Literacy Program’s goal of 2 Million vertical feet, and then ask friends, family, and businesses to donate based on their personal goal. Each donation helps the Teton Literacy Program to reach its goal of raising 1 per foot to aid the cost of classes, services, and resources that are available to the Jackson Hole Community. Donations can be gathered from friends and family using the following Methods:

1. Collect Donations directly in cash or check form
2. Donate Online with a Credit Card @ www.firstgiving.com/TLPAsCent (use the simple system to send automated request e-mails with donations that go directly to TLP)
3. Collect pledges with contact information for follow-ups.
