polish-glacier-on-aconcagua6 Randokitty here, again for Randosteve…
Steve called this morning to say that their “recon. ski” went great yesterday, and that they actually found some great snow! The wind was howling this morning though, and so the team is taking a rest day. So far, everyone on the team is acclimatizing very well and their “pulse oxygen” results are all very good.

The plan is for the team to start heading up to Camp One tomorrow, but Steve is uncertain how many trips that will entail with all of their gear, skis etc. The team will continue up to Camp Two the following day, (weather allowing) and on to the Summit, the third day, if possible. The big caveat for this plan, however, is obviously weather, and Steve says that with the current wind situation, the “going” will be rough.

We’ll see! Please continue to send the team good thoughts and even a text message on the satellite phone (see two posts back for details on this). Please also continue to post comments for the team – and again, please bear with me as I try to post as much as possible from the parking lots in Red Rocks where I am currently rockclimbing. Still no internet at Base Camp and so Steve and I are trying to make do as much as possible and keep you all in the loop…
