What! This is bullshit…Why have all Montana resdients been black listed from this contest? I guess we are truely the most insipred ski tourers out there thus the elimination from this contest. Keeping us out keeps the playing feild level I guess…wahtever. Silly Canadians…

    Hey
They just know you Montanians are spoiled with a nice longer season and tons of excelllent terrain.
Try sucking it up here in California where you are lucky to get any decent tours by christmas.

Where does it say people from Montana can’t enter?

  4. 4 randosteve Dec 18th, 2009 at 6:59 pm

    rules and regs…

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Contest is open only to
legal residents of Canada and the United States (excluding Quebec, and in the United States; Arizona, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Vermont, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, New York and Florida.) Entrants must be 18 years or older at time of entry. Entries are limited to individuals only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible. Employees or contract employees of CMH Heli-Skiing or ARC’TERYX and their affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and parents and their immediate families or persons living in the same household of such individuals, are ineligible.

What’s up with the anti-Maryland discrimination? I live in Utah now but don’t appreciate the anti-Terrapin proclivities. But anyway, Why do we love ski touring? I’ve been giving this some thought lately. We are adventure addix! (SIC intentional) Ski touring gives you the opportunity to really get out there and test yourself. All the while spending time in the beautiful mountains and seeing what your buddies are made of. It is the greatest sport in the world! Time to start editing!

Little boys playing war.Real life dumbed down so its not so confusing.Mother nature in her winter clothing is overwhelming and to have a decent relationship with her you need to be better than you really are.

I don’t get it. Why are certain state residents being excluded from this contest and why does a heliski operation want to know why I like to ski tour? I wouldn’t get nearly the same feeling of place after breaking trail all day and milking those precious turns. I’m not saying I wouldn’t take a free heli vaca, but what’s the catch?

  9. 9 olddude Dec 20th, 2009 at 6:17 am

Why are certain state residents being excluded ?
My guess is that one of the advertising agency’s executives wife has had affairs with guys in all those excluded states. Just a guess. I think they should rethink the Montanas though because we Canadians think of them as just like us except they have guns and less infrastructure.

  10. 10 Smokey Dec 20th, 2009 at 8:26 am

Ha! I like it olddude! We think of Canadians just like Montanans too, but with less guns and better health care. Cheers…

Really though, any thoughts Steve? Something to do with no sales tax or ? I’m stumped…

working on it…email sent. off to work now…yay!

    Hey all,

The reasons for some states and provinces being excluded is not that we are “silly Canadians” but more to due with silly state and provincial laws. Lottery rules and insurances around prizes change between states and for whatever reasons; probable that the state cannot take its cut from the competition, they are not allowed.

If you are from those states use a friends address from another state, there is no way anyone will figure that out.

As for the prize it is heli-ASSISTED, not heli skiing. The trip should be wicked, with heli drops in different remote zones every day. Zones that could be up to 50 miles apart, all accessed from the same luxurious setting.

95% of the day will be spent touring through beautiful remote mountains, no heli just a group of ski tourers doing what they love.Touring around alpine terrain, earning great turns, enjoy the peaceful mountains. We will just miss out on the grunt up valley, or the bushwacks involved in accessing those areas.

This prize is worth around 12 000 dollars.

I hope that answers some questions.

This Vermonter is hoping there’s a loophole in the residency restrictions, because I think my entry video is doing pretty well so far.

"heli assisted touring" does sound a little posh, but I’ll take luxury every once in awhile…..
