Good luck to The Last Degree expedition members, Parker Liautaud and Doug Stoup, in their attempt to ski to the North Pole which started yesterday! 15 year old Parker hopes to become the youngest person to reach the pole and it will be Doug’s 7th trip to the North Pole. They will be updating their progress on Facebook and IceAxe.tv. Their attempt will focus on raising awareness for climate change and what Parker’s generation might be able to do to help stop it.
This next video is of Doug telling a story about an interaction he and his fellow arctic travelers had with a polar bear on one of his previous expedtiiosn to the pole. Worth the watch…so be sure to check it out. There’s lots of videos that talk this trip on Parker’s YouTube channel, many by Doug himself, who is very knowledgeable about arctic travel, so be sure to check them out HERE.

that’s a funny bear story, i hope they make it.
i have a few bear stories from the tetons - seems like they’re pretty active round there. i wonder how many tetonians carry pepper spray on ski trips / north of the grand - late in the spring.
yeah d-nice…that is one hell of a trip to the bathroom. wonder if they had polar bear and ramen that night.
