From what I’m starting to hear referred to as the Teton Pass Backcountry Skiers Alliance, donations are being requested to give thanks to our friends at WYDOT. They do a great job, considering the snowbank at the top lot is now carved out and nearly 10 feet tall, and it’s only December. Not to mention that there are no parking or other “use fees” we have to pay to get the goods. And yeah, it’s been good. The donation shell is located by the south side access, but it would probably be a good idea to get one set up on the north side as well. Spare change is requested, but I’m thinking bagels, lift tickets and liquid libations might be accepted as well.

thanks Steve for the heads up on this- the wydot crew that clears the lot and keeps the road open are worth giving a little extra thanks to- driving those big rigs is tough enough and they,re generally really patient with maneuvering around us riders and our sometimes funky dogs,etc.-the more we can do to stay on the snow and off the road it seems the more cooperative they get. some folks have wondered why their isn’t a top on the donation can,but i feel i have to give the teton pass crowd at least that much credit in terms of trust- and if everyone who used the place since i put the can/shell up put a quarter in there we would have some decent coin – 100 cars a day times 2 people avg. = 200 x .25= 50 bucks- well it doesn’t turn out that way. i just figure that for the easy access and amazing skiing it’s worth a quarter a time- dude some days it’s empty- so thanks a lot for your help and thanks to all those who have taken the time to donate- we’ll get something nice for our buds on the wydot crew
p.s. let’s remember Jimmy Zell tomorrow-c ya at Snow King
right on ampassador. i hope we can help get those wydot guys out.
It’s worth a quarter per visit, I hope we as a community of riders can see the light and work to keep teton pass upper lot plowed. Its very important to not cause slides that endanger the highway.
