In an effort to guarantee the safety of the public, as well as search and rescue personal during potential avalanche control work, and to preserve any remaining evidence that may be useful in the on going search for the missing persons in the area, Grand Teton National Park will be closing Garnet Canyon to public travel from Bradley Lake up both the south and north forks on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Rangers hope this to be in effect for Saturday only. The Sliver on Nez Perce (from Shadow), Spoon Couloir on Disappointment Peak (from Amphitheater lake) and Glacier Gulch (from the valley) are still open for your ski-touring pleasure.

Bummer. Best of luck to SAR personnel up there.
Sliver access from the Platform Couloirs? or only from Shadow Peak?
only from shadow…no travel in garnet from bradley lake up.
Thats what I thought. Thanks Steve.
Wish ‘em the best of luck in their efforts and safe searching. Plenty of other areas to play in.
