Well, it’s that time of year again. The seasonal workers have all left town, the tourists are starting to thin out, the first skiff of snow was spotted above 10k’ and another Teton Gravity Research film premiere is slated for this Saturday in Teton Village. As in the past, there will be two showings, one at 5:30pm and another at 8:00pm, as well as an after-party at the Mangy Moose following the 8 o’clock show. Tickets are now available at TetonGravity.com and The Jackson Treehouse, and are $14 for the late show (+$25 for after-party) and $12 for the early show. Kid’s 10 and under can get into the early show only for $5, payable at the door. All net proceeds from the premiere will benefit the BTNF Avalanche Forecast Support Organization and Jackson Hole Ski Club Freeride Program.
This year’s film is called “One for the Road†and was shot entirely with Phantom, Red, Canon DSLR and GoPro HD camera footage. Segments were filmed on-location skiing the epically deep powder of Japan and the record breaking snow season in Jackson WY. One for the Road includes clips from skiing adventures in Iceland, the newly independent countries in the Adriatic region of Europe, along with first descents in British Columbia and pin-it-to-win-it lines in Alaska. As usual, some of the best freeride ski athletes are featured in the film and many of them will be on-hand
for poster signings and general tomfoolery at the premiere in Teton Village. Be sure to bring your party hat!
It’s impossible not to get stoked for this year’s ski season when watching these films and it’s always fun to see what TGR brings to the table year after year. This year, Ian McIntosh pays the price of another long filming season with an insane femur breaking tumble down a spiny face in Alaska. It’s not cool to see these guys get injured, but it’s good to know that the athletes are pushing the skiing environment and themselves to the limit when they are out there getting footage. For that, they have my respect and support, and I look forward to Saturday night’s show. See you there!!!

Like most others, this stuff is pure crack cocaine for me. I love watching it. But when I see glimpses of huge avi crowns going off with these guys bombing right through I have to wonder what they are thinking. I mean, Kodak courage is reaching the stratosphere. Insane. That said, I’ll cough up the $$$ to watch the idiocy.
yeah bh…those guys hit it full throttle for sure. freaking ballsy!!!
