I’m enjoying the availability of partners and heading back out into the Winds for a few days. I just can’t get enough. I’ll be back posting on Tuesday. Have a great weekend! -Steve Randosteve skis off of Fremont Peak in the Wind River Range. Photo Chris Kroger. After getting a good night sleep after skiing […]
Chris Kroger skis the Northwest Couloir of Mount Helen. After scoping out how much white stuff was still lingering in the Winds River Range while skiing the Spoon Couloir on Disappointment Peak a couple weeks ago, and wanting to end the season on a high note after some busted June trips, I called around and […]
Steve Romeo drops into the Northwest Couloir on Mount Helen. Photo Chris Kroger. Just a quick shout-out as I roll back into the real world. I’m back from a great 4-day/3-night trip skiing in the Winds with Chris Kroger, with successful descents of the Northwest Couloir on Mount Helen and the Southwest Couloir on Fremont […]

Skiing the Northeast Ridge of Mount Moran has been on my Teton hit-list ever since I started getting more serious about ski mountaineering in the late 90’s. Reed Finlay and I made our first attempt at it in 2006, shooting for the line Stephen Koch did on the first descent, which continued past the gendarme […]
Randosteve skis the upper section of the Sickle Couloir on Mount Moran. A couple weeks ago, before the heat of summer set in here in Jackson and the snow surfaces were still looking smooth, I managed a trip to the north side of Mount Moran to ski the Sickle Couloir with Wray Landon and Dustin […]
Skiing off the summit of the Middle Teton. After skiing the South Teton, we looked at our watches and decided we had time for one more run before other commitments needed to be respected. Our mission was to boot up the Southwest Couloir of the Middle Teton and then ski it…all the way to Icefloe […]
After spending five hours in the car on Friday driving to the trailhead only to turn around and drive another five hours back to Jackson, needless to say I was fired up to get out and get some skiing in this weekend. The local forecast was for temps in the low twenties at night, which […]
Randosteve skis in the Eastern Beartooths of Montana. Our second full day skiing out of Goose Lake was the best. Our plan was to head up to Fox Peak and scope out its North Couloir, which was recommend by Kris Erickson, a well known ski mountaineer and photographer. After hopefully a successful descent, would then […]
Heading out of town and into the mountains for a few days. Be back next week. Have a great weekend. Live to ski!
After a week off the skis while in Mexico, I was SO jonesing to get back skiing when I arrived back in Jackson on Monday. Though I found some potential touring partners at the gate in the SLC airport, I started to panic when my first phone call didn’t result in a partner. However, my […]

Not quite the Otterbody, but here’s a little vidy from skiing the North Couloir of Eagles Rest Peak in the Northern Tetons. Randokitty and I camped out for a couple nights last weekend and did some skiing in Waterfalls Canyon. More from the trip later!
I was testing out a new helmet cam on this trip and the picture was a little over exposed…sorry! I also included the YouTube version in case anyone is having trouble with the Vimeo feed.
