Moosely Seconds Mountaineering sits under the Grand Tetons

If anyone makes their way up to Grand Teton National Park this summer, drop by Moosely Seconds Mountaineering and say…’Hi’.

I have been managing the store for the past seven or eight years now it seems. It is a great place to shop, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jackson and sometimes we Upstairsget some really great deals on close-outs and discontinued items. Moosely Seconds is the sister store to what I call the ‘mother ship’…Skinny Skis in Jackson. Every year is a little different up here in Moose, but one thing will always stay the same…the views, which is one of the reasons I continue to work at the shop. Whenever I get too stressed, I just walk out the front door, take in the views and breath in the fresh air to help bring me back to earth.

Moosely Seconds in located in the Dornan’s complex, just east of the main entrance into GTNP. We rent ice axes, crampons, mountain boots, approach shoes, rock shoes and trekking poles. We also stock everything you need from stoves to sleeping bags to Downstairsropes to prayer flags, so if you forgot something…we can help. I’ve got a great crew of super friendly employees this year, Chris, Tom, Christi, Anneka and Coleman, and they can all help steer you in the right direction, no matter what your needs are.

Summer is the time to work for me, so drop in and give a shout…chances are I’ll be there. You never know who else might be shopping either. Last week there were sightings of Yvon Chouinard and Bo Derek…ooo la la!!!
