Staying on the rando racing theme today…congrats to US Ski Mountaineering Team members Nina Silitch and Lyndsay Meyer on their 2nd place finish in the recent TSF (Tournette Sources du Fier) Millet in Les Aravis, France.

TSF MilletThe TSF has become one of the bigger races in the European rando race circuit and 163 teams competed this year. The TSF is a two day event with the first day consisting on nearly 7000′ of climbing…most of it on the first ascent. Nina and Lyndsay won that race by 4 minutes…ahead of Jane Harper and Fabian Sestier-Carlin…a Kiwi/French combo team. Jane and Fabian had their revenge on the second day however, pulling ahead of the other female racers by 6 minutes. Nina and Lyndsay finish third on day two and unfortunately were passed on the final climb, but they were still able to hold second place overall…very impressive indeed.

It’s looking like the women will really add some points to the overall team rankings in this year’s Worlds. Hopefully we can do better than the 10th place result in 2006. On another note…sending out a get well soon wish to Jeannie Wall…who I heard blew her knee out recently. I think Jeannie was to join us to race in Switzerland and is always super strong, so it is a loss for us all. Get well soon Jeannie!!!
