polish-glacier-on-aconcagua1Randokitty here for Randosteve:
Steve called today, on the satellite phone, from base camp. The two day trek in to base camp went well, and the team is doing great, settling into camp at over 14, 000ft. At three points along the trek in, the team members’ oxygen levels were tested and all three members seem to acclimatizing well. Tomorrow the plan is to do a short “recon” ski from base camp, to help even further with acclimatization. Then, on Tuesday, the team will head up the mountain to establish Camp One.

Base camp is just starting to be set up and so Steve has limited/no internet access right now. And, I am in Red Rocks, rock climbing, and blogging from random parking lots. So, please be patient with us – it may be a few hours before we can approve comments, but keep ’em coming. I know Steve REALLY appreciates every bit of support.
