Here is a little video I made a while back for the Black Diamond Journal of skiing the Sneaker Couloir in GTNP. It’s nothing special, mainly due to the low light and lack of HD POV camera. This was the last time my POV camera actually worked and I am in the market for a new one. Right now, I’m leaning towards a Contour, mostly because of the positive feeling of the On/Off switch and the rotating lens. To be totally honest though, I’m not working or making money right now, so my funds are kinda limited and I’m not sure if I can dish out the $3-400 it would take to get set up. We’ll see though.
Nice. My 2 cents: Your sponsors are probably very well served if they provide you with the camera.
Thanks Christian.
Christian hit the nail right on the head.
time to go storm skiing…AGAIN!!! 🙂
why don’t you pimp Contour for a cam? I would imagine you are getting enough hits these days for their msrketing bro to trade you a cam for a little banner.
I hear you on the helmet cameras….one cam is at the bottom of the Valhalla Traverse and the other one is buried underneath the Central exit air…..not good, i’ll be camera hunting this summer.
bummer michelle. one upside to the gopro units i guess is that if/when you find them, they will probably still be fine since they are in those waterproof boxes.
still leaning towards a contour though.
also Steve, one of my friends is selling their Contour HD (barely used) for cheap….let me know if you are interested. I’d buy it but I like the Gopro better…
The contour has a housing that Ive used snorkeling. I was about to volunteer mine up due to lack of use (injury = no skiing), but then I read michelle’s post and realized I might never see it again. Hit up contour, tell them gopro is dominating JH right now – you should have one in 5 days.
