Randosteve and Hidden Couloir in Backcountry Magazine

Working all day today, so unfortunately no skiing. If you are in a shop that sells Backcountry Magazine anytime in the next month, please grab a copy of the February issue. In it, there is an account of Reed Finlay’s and my descent of the Hidden Couloir on Thor Peak in 2005. Just a two page spread…I think, but I have fun with it.

This is my second ‘Hardlines’ piece that Backcountry Magazine has printed (thanks fellas) and I consider them fun little side projects. The first piece was of skiing the Vader Couloir in the Wind River Range, here is a photo. Interestingly enough today is the anniversary of our Hidden Couloir descent. I believe it was a second descent and it did not come easy for us. Please grab a copy and check it out if you get a chance.
